The 2019 Industrial Arts Auction at the California Mid-State Fair shattered records by bringing in more money than the event has ever raised in past years.
This year’s auction was hosted by Rick Machado on Thursday, July 18. The earnings amount broke the former single-day record with a total of $153,000 made.
The amount also tops last year’s earnings of $100,825 by more than 50%.
More than $650,000 total has been brought in since the event started more than 20 years ago.
Airgas is the sponsor of the auction, which supports the Industrial Education Program. This program shows off the work of high school innovators and their creations, including BBQ grills, trailers, utility racks, wine racks, shop benches, porch swings, coffee tables and other projects.
The California Mid-State Fair is open now through Sunday, July 28.
