Kids in San Luis Obispo County are getting a chance to learn about water safety, life-saving techniques, CPR and basic first aid skills at Junior Lifeguarding Camp.
The camp will be offered for two weeks.
At Thursday’s camp, kids participated in swimming exercises, learned lifeguarding skills and learned preventative lifeguarding.
Event organizers said the programs main objective is to instill self-confidence in everyone so that they can apply these tools in real life.
Everyone who participated got the opportunity to get certified in CPR and First Aid for adults.
The Junior Lifeguarding Camp is offered for four hours per day Monday through Thursday for two weeks.
They are offering the course until July 26, 2019.
