Foster youth and their families experienced quite the field trip on a tour of the Hearst Castle.
The adventure is part of the Foundation at Hearst Castle’s S.T.E.A.M. program.
It brings underserved local kids to the castle for a day of inspiration.
Kids see how math, art, engineering and science can be used in building something extraordinary, like Hearst Castle.
“If they are not triggered somehow to be inspired, then it’s all lost,” said Jeanette Trompeter, Foundation at Hearst Castle President. “That’s the purpose of bringing young people up here, so they can have their imagination sparked and see what’s possible.”
After the tour, kids received a microbiology lesson at San Simeon Beach.
