A woman was killed after the vehicle she was riding in struck a tree east of Paso Robles on Saturday.

According to California Highway Patrol, the vehicle was west bound on Union Road when it came off the road.
It struck an oak tree. The woman, who was the passenger of the vehicle, died from her injuries, CHP said.
The male driver was taken to Sierra Vista hospital with major injuries.
Both are northern California residents. Her name was not released.
CHP says intoxication may be a factor in the crash.
