Allan Hancock College students and staff collaborated with volunteers from local organizations Friday morning to clean up a park in the City of Guadalupe.
The crew set out to Jack O’Connell Park in an effort to revitalize the community.
Volunteer tasks included improving the playground area, building three horseshoe pits, landscaping the baseball field and painting picnic tables.
“By doing what they did today it’s gonna by more useful to our children and also the kids, so it’s a great benefit to the community,” said Guadalupe Mayor Ariston Julian.
The cleanup was part of the community college’s Hancock Cares Program.
