Crews requested a portion of Highway 227 in San Luis Obispo be closed Friday morning after a semi truck went off the road and hit part of a tree.

It happened shortly after 9:30 a.m. near Price Canyon Road.

The California Highway Patrol reported no injuries associated with the crash, but requested crews remove the partially dead tree to prevent it from falling onto the road.

CHP reports once work gets underway, both lanes of Highway 227 between Price Canyon and Biddle Ranch will be closed for approximately one hour.

A tree crew was en route as of 10:30 a.m.

No word on what caused the driver to go off the road.
