A 16-year-old boy was flown to the hospital by helicopter Tuesday after an accident at the Oceano Dunes.
It happened at around 1 p.m. in an area known as Maidenform Flats.
According to State Parks rangers, the teen was riding a motorcycle just ahead of an ROV and apparently made a sudden turning movement that caused the ROV to collide with the motorcycle.
The teen was the only person injured in the crash.
Rangers say he had a complaint of shoulder pain and because he had lost consciousness for a short time, it was decided that he should be flown out of the area by helicopter.
State Parks says the people involved in the crash are from the Sacramento region and are all part of the same family.
Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the crash, and everyone involved was wearing proper safety equipment.
