The City of San Luis Obispo will kick off a major road construction and resurfacing project on South Broad Street starting July 15.

The work will take place from Tank Farm Road to just south of the airport.

It will include Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) pedestrian improvements and curb corner ramps and repaving of the road’s surface.

Work on the curbs and crossings will occur weekdays in July from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Repaving will occur in August and take place overnights from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

The roadway improvements will also include striping changes to include bike lane buffers and wider bike lanes.

The project is expected to be complete in early October.

It is being funded by the Local Revenue Measure, the city’s half-percent sales tax that helps fund maintenance projects.
