Young students are learning how to establish their own businesses through a special summer program at Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo.

The three-week College for Kids course teaches students how to make their own micro-businesses.

They start by researching and developing their product before creating promotion and marketing materials to advertise.

Then, they practice their customer service before setting up shop for people to come in and purchase their goods.

“These kids are amazing. They’re so talented and passionate, and if you give them a little bit of support, they can really run with it and it always impresses me what they come up with,” said Alysha Nye, College for Kids instructor.

The College for Kids Business Fair is held every summer.

Professors hope to inspire the students to keep their entrepreneurial spirit for years to come.
