The California Highway Patrol is holding an off-highway vehicle safety outreach event Tuesday at the Oceano Dunes.
CHP says the goal is to raise awareness about safe vehicle operation and inspect and enforce vehicle registration, equipment and driver’s license requirements.
The event will take place from 1 p.m. to about 4:30 p.m. on July 2, at the Sand Highway south of the Pier Ave. Beach Ramp.
Motorcycles, ATVs, trailers, and vehicles towing them will be inspected for correct registration, VIN and serial numbers, as well as proper safety and lighting equipment. Drivers will also be checked for proper licensing.
Officers will also provide safety information to everyone who passes through the inspection lanes.
