The suspect in a deadly stabbing in Shandon earlier this month is now officially facing a charge of murder.

Kejuan Guy Bynum, 26, of Atascadero was charged Tuesday for the death of Cristopher Vento Wilson, 23, of Paso Robles.

The stabbing occurred early in the evening on June 1 in the 200 block of Escondido Way. Wilson reportedly died at the hospital.

Bynum was arrested following the stabbing but until now had been held only on a parole violation.

The felony complaint against Bynum alleges that he used a knife in the stabbing. It also says he was previously convicted of robbery and served two prior state prison terms for threatening a witness and resisting arrest by force or violence.

According to the San Luis Obispo County District Attorney’s Office, Bynum faces life in prison if convicted of the murder charge.

He is scheduled to be arraigned in San Luis Obispo County Superior Court on Wednesday.
