UPDATE: Identity released for Los Olivos woman killed in Figueroa Mountain Road crash

UPDATE: A GoFundMe page has been set up to support the 22-year-old passenger who is being treated for major injuries after being involved in the deadly crash on Figueroa Mountain Road on Tuesday.

The page has surpassed the desired amount of donations of $5,000. By noon on Thursday, the total was given through the page was approximately $6,960 from 103 donors. The page had been shared 928 times and has 110 followers.

The person who started the GoFundMe account also linked to a medical updates page to know the latest about the woman’s condition. The page said she is suffering from spinal injuries and will take a while to recover.

The driver involved in the crash was killed.

UPDATE: The family of Sienna Diaz-Tremper, 21, of Los Olivos says she was killed in Tuesday evening’s crash. The sheriff’s office confirmed the information Wednesday afternoon.


 

ORIGINAL STORY: The California Highway Patrol is releasing more information about a deadly crash on Figueroa Mountain Road Tuesday evening.

CHP says the 911 call reporting the crash north of Highway 154 at Chamberlin Ranch was made shortly after 5:30 p.m.

Officers say preliminary information shows the 21-year-old driver from Los Olivos, whose name has not yet been released, was driving northbound when she drifted off the road to the right and over-corrected, causing the car to spin off the road and fall down an embankment before it overturned.

The driver was pronounced dead. The 22-year-old passenger from Santa Maria had to be pulled from the car by firefighters and was airlifted to the hospital for treatment of major injuries.
