Three people arrested on suspicion of burglary in Isla Vista

Santa Barbara County Sheriff Deputies arrested three people suspected of burglary in Isla Vista.

Sheriff deputies responded to reports of a residential burglary on the 6500 block of Del Playa Drive at around 6:30 a.m on Saturday, June 15.

While responding to the area, the victim located items stolen from her home inside of a Dodge Ram truck that was parked in front of her home. Deputies contacted three adults, two men and a woman, associated with the Dodge truck.

After further investigation deputies arrested all three suspects. In addition to the stolen property that was located in the Dodge truck, more of the victim’s stolen property was located inside backpacks associated with the three.

The three suspects, Demarqus Wiggins, 27 from Sausalito, CA., Rendrick Scypion, 25, from Sausalito, CA., and Caitlin Williams, 19, from Oakland, CA., were booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail for Residential Burglary; Conspiracy to commit a crime and Possession of stolen property with bails set at $50,000.

If you believe your property may have been stolen, all of the confiscated items are being held at the Isla Vista Foot Patrol at 6504 Trigo Road.
