A judge on Thursday increased the bail for a Buellton man accused of sex crimes involving multiple minors.

Bail for Gregory Scott Ray, 52, is now set at $500,000. He’s being held at the Santa Barbara County Jail.

The prosecutor in the case filed a motion requesting the bail increase after additional charges were filed against Ray last week.

Ray faces more than 20 charges that include lewd or lascivious acts upon a child, sodomy by force, and other sex crimes involving eight alleged victims.

Investigators say, while working as an independent salesman for a yearbook company, Ray used a social media app to meet and have sex with teen boys.

He was arrested in April after officials at Santa Ynez Valley Union High School contacted the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators say a teacher at the school overheard a conversation that sparked concern and reported it to administrators.
