Paso Robles police arrested an Atascadero man Wednesday after a woman reported an intruder had entered her house while she was upstairs.
It happened shortly before 10:30 a.m. at a home in the 2800 block of Park St.
The woman said she confronted the man inside her house and he took off running out the door and through a fence.
Police say officers responding to the woman’s report spotted a man running away from the area along the railroad tracks. They say he matched the description the woman provided.
The man, identified as Joseph Godfrey, 35, was taken into custody and police say the victim confirmed with officers that he was the same person who had entered her house.
Godfrey was booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail on suspicion of first-degree residential burglary and possession of drugs.
