Brian Christopher Schotz, 44, was arrested by the Santa Barbara Police Department last week on suspicion of commercial burglary, and police believe he is responsible for a series of crimes.
In early 2018, Schotz was sentenced for prior commercial burglaries and was just released from prison on April 23.
Police say detectives discovered a pattern of criminal activity that led them to believe Schotz was behind several recent burglaries, as well.
After receiving an alarm call from a West Carillo Street store early in the morning on Wednesday, May 22, police linked Schotz to the crime and were reportedly able to locate him through a local business owner, who reported another burglary in-process.
Police took Schotz into custody, and he was booked for four commercial burglaries the morning of May 22 and an additional six commercial burglaries which occurred in the span of time since Schotz was released from prison.
Schotz is being held at the Santa Barbara County Jail.
