A senior living facility in San Luis Obispo known for years as The Manse on Marsh is now under new ownership and has a new name, Avila Senior Living.
The name change reportedly went into effect on May 23.
Christopher Skiff no longer owns the business. In January, he was sentenced to six months in jail and five years of probation for involuntary manslaughter and elderly and dependent adult abuse in connection with the death of a Manse on Marsh resident.
In 2014, Mauricio Edgar Cardenas, 65, died after being struck by a car 10 miles away from the senior living facility. It was alleged that Cardenas suffered from dementia and should not have been living at the facility.
Gary Potts, a former employee of The Manse on Marsh, was also charged in the case and pleaded not guilty.
Employees at Avila Senior Living could not say Wednesday whether resident care has been impacted by the sale.
