The man charged with attempted murder for a shooting at the Oceano Dunes earlier this month pleaded not guilty in court Thursday.

Francisco Orozco, 19, of Oakland is charged with one count of attempted murder, as well as five counts of assault with a semi-automatic handgun and four enhancements for personally inflicting great bodily injury.

Six people were injured in the shooting just after midnight on Sunday, May 5. The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office said they had all been released from the hospital by Wednesday of that week.

The shots reportedly rang out at a large gathering at the south end of the dunes where people were attending a concert.

Orozco’s next scheduled court hearing is set for June 19. He remains in custody at the San Luis Obispo County Jail.
