The Santa Maria City Council is considering an 85-unit townhome community at Blosser Rd. and Carmen Ln.
The SerraMonte Townhomes project would be on a 6.5-acre portion of a 7.7-acre site. The remaining 1.2-acre parcel is currently home to Quintron, a communication systems manufacturer.
The project is currently zoned for the establishment of small businesses like bakeries, grocery stores and restaurants and industrial, manufacturing and non-public offices.
In order for the project to move forward, the city would need to amend that zoning.
