Firefighters in Santa Barbara County responded to a small grass fire in Santa Ynez this morning.
The department tweeted today that the vegetation fire burned about 2 to 3 acres and threatened three nearby structures.

Department spokesman Daniel Bertucelli said that at 11:46 a.m. this morning the department dispatched four engines, a water tender, a battalion chief and one helicopter to reports of the vegetation fire at 1575 Edison Rd. in Santa Ynez.
Upon arrival of the first engine, firefighters confirmed the fire burning light grass at a moderate rate of spread near three homes. They aggressively fought the fire and crews are now working to mop up the scene.
“As of right now the fire is approximately 2 acres in size and is currently being mapped for a more accurate size,” said Bertucelli.
Santa Barbara Sheriffs are also on scene for traffic control.
