Santa Barbara Police say a person was robbed at gunpoint Friday night in Santa Barbara.

Police responded to reports of a victim who was being robbed at gunpoint at approximately 7:25 p.m. near East Mason Street and North Soledad Street in the Eastside Neighborhood of Santa Barbara.

Officials say the victim had been riding on a bicycle when they were approached by five males, some of which brandished at least one firearm and threatened the victim by force to handover belongings.

Witnesses say the subjects fled in a tan coup. After a short search police located the vehicle and initialized a high-risk stop near Milpas Street and Montecito Street.

Police took a total of five subjects into custody, three of them were juveniles. Police searched the vehicle and found two separate firearms.

The victim and witness of the robbery positively identified each of the subjects and the vehicle. Police say preliminary reports suggest that the assailants were from outside the area.
