With Stage 4 of the Amgen Tour of California complete, riders are preparing for their next leg of the race.

Stage 5 departs Pismo Beach at 10 a.m. Thursday.

The cyclists will take off from Pomeroy Avenue and head south along Highway 1 through Oceano and Guadalupe to Orcutt.

From there, they’ll head out to Foxen Canyon and Highway 154. After climbing over the San Marcos Pass, cyclists will then take Highway 192 into Ventura County for a finish in the City of Ventura.

After some drama Wednesday as riders rode into Morro Bay, Fabio Jakobsen was the first to cross the finish line.

The Amgen Tour of California started Sunday in Sacramento and will wrap up Saturday in Pasadena.

Some road closures are in place in Pismo Beach Thursday due to the race.

Pismo Beach police say Dolliver/Highway 1 will be closed for about 20 minutes at the start of the race.

The 200 block of Pomeroy and 600 to 700 blocks of Cypress will be closed at 2 a.m. and will remain closed through the start of the race.

The 100 block of Pomeroy and pier parking lot will also be closed as of 2:00 a.m. That area will remain closed for most of the day, according to police.
