City of SLO asks for resident input on Climate Action Plan update

Posted

San Luis Obispo residents are invited to a meeting this week about updating the city’s Climate Action Plan.

The original plan was adopted in 2012. In 2018, the city council directed staff to develop a plan to achieve carbon neutrality by 2035.

City officials say the updated Climate Action Plan will focus on five areas – green energy, active and clean transportation, green buildings, zero waste, and open space.

A community workshop will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday, May 16 at the San Luis Obispo Library. Community members are encouraged to share the steps they’re taking to reduce carbon emissions and goals for the future.

Other workshops and speaker events are being planned for the coming months.
