The Santa Maria fire department gifted a World War II and Korean War veteran with a new special jacket yesterday.
The department tweeted today that, while responding to an EMS call last month, firefighters cut a special jacket off the veteran. The new jacket was a way to honor the veteran’s service.
The gift was a collaborative effort with Honor Flight, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing veterans with honor and closure.
Last month E2 responded to a EMS call where they had to cut a special jacket off of 1 of our WWII and Korean War veterans. Yesterday, they had the honor to assist Honor Flight w presenting another jacket to Mr Perkins. Thank you for your service sir and thank you Honor Flight! pic.twitter.com/RUmaXDCFhB
