Mark Andersen honors his favorite baseball team’s logo and colors with every step he takes.

The double amputee and Santa Maria resident lost his legs in a boating accident at Lake Nacimiento over 20 years ago. In March, Andersen placed an order for new prosthetic legs and he asked the company making the prosthetics to give them a unique design.

The blue prosthetics are covered in the Dodgers logo and represent Andersen’s Dodger pride.

The company who created the prosthetics reached out to the Dodgers to share Andersen’s story and love of Dodger blue.

When the baseball team heard about Andersen, they invited him to throw out the first pitch at an upcoming game.

Monday night, Andersen walked out to the mound and got to make a dream a reality.
