Firefighters put out a small fire Saturday that was sparked by a helicopter that had crashed near Oxnard.
The Ventura County Fire Department reported at 10:46 a.m. that the crash had occurred in a remote area along S. Victoria Road.
The pilot was reportedly able to make it out of the helicopter; however, the extent of any injuries was unknown.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
