Police launch extensive search after train grazes bicyclist

UPDATE (8:45 p.m.) – Pismo Beach police say they have identified the man who was struck by a train Friday evening.

They say the 38-year-old man told them he got a ride to the emergency room after the incident. He reportedly suffered non-life threatening injuries to his arm and hand.


 

(6:37 p.m.) – Police say they were unable to locate a person who was grazed by a train near the Monarch Butterfly Grove in Pismo Beach.

It happened late Friday afternoon.

According to police, the engineer stopped the train after a person on a bicycle was grazed. The engineer reportedly saw the person stumble, then walk away.

Police launched an extensive search of the area to try to find the person who was hit. A helicopter was also used in the search. They were reportedly unable to find anyone involved.
