The San Luis Obispo Regional Transit Authority (RTA) is bringing a zero-transmission, battery-electric bus to the San Luis Obispo County Government Center.
RTA said it’s all part of a plan to introduce city leaders to the future of public transit.
In a press release, they said having the bus in town will give leaders a chance to learn about electric buses and experience what it is like to ride on a nearly silent bus.
RTA said zero-emission electrical buses are cleaner, more quiet, more efficient and cost effective.
The State of California said all purchases of public transportation vehicles must be zero-emission starting 2026 and completed by 2029.
RTA currently operates 40 diesel fuel buses.
