Cookie Crock closes Morro Bay location

Posted

The Cookie Crock Warehouse in Morro Bay has closed its doors for the final time.

Employees confirmed Sunday was the last day of business for the locally-owned and operated grocery store located at 490 Quintana Rd.

Those in the corporate office say the reason behind the closure was a “business decision,” but would not provide additional details.

Cookie Crock is “the longest continuously operated independent Super Market on the Central Coast” that opened in Morro Bay in February 2012, according to its Facebook page.

Cookie Crock does not own the Morro Bay building and could not say what may replace it.

Some of the employees from the Morro Bay store reportedly transferred to Cookie Crock’s other location in Cambria.
