Traffic alert: Two crashes stall traffic on Highway 101 Southbound

(UPDATE) 5:24 p.m. – Caltrans District 5 has issued a sig alert on Highway 101 southbound after two separate car crashed slowed down traffic Friday night.


Two crashes are slowing down traffic on Highway 101 southbound between the Madonna Road and Los Osos Valley Road off-ramps.

The first crash was reported on Friday around 4:11 p.m. near the Los Osos Valley Road off-ramp on Highway 101 south. According to the California Highway Patrol incident page a white Ford, a yellow school bus and another car crashed into each other. The bus was reportedly on the center divider according to the incident page.

CHP said both lanes opened to traffic around 5:03 p.m.

The second crash slowing down traffic was reported at 4:07 p.m. near the Madonna Road off-ramp on Highway 101 southbound.

According to the CHP incident page, a car was swerving all over the road until it crashed.

A CHP dispatcher tells KSBY News that they dispatched about two or three patrol cars to the scene.

They could not comment on the extent of injuries on any of the crashes.
