A popular golf course in Paso Robles is for sale as the owner looks to invest his time and money instead into a new outdoor garden art installation.
Hunter Ranch Golf Course, which is located on Highway 46 East, is now on the market for $4.2 million.
The 18-hole championship course also hosts weddings.
“Hunter Ranch is perfectly settled amidst scenic vineyards of the Central Coast wine country and surrounded by century-old oak trees and tranquil lakes, which can provide a spectacular location for your wedding or reception,” according to the description posted on the Paso Robles Chamber of Commerce website.
A partner with ranch owner Ken Hunter said the sale is not motivated by financial hardship, but rather Hunter’s decision to focus on a project called “Sensario” across the street.
Sensario is an art installation consisting of a 250-acre field of LED lights. The project has been in the works since 2002 but was just announced in August.
Hunter’s business partner said the ranch will most likely continue to be operated as a golf course by whoever makes the purchase.
No closing date was released.
