Progress is being made on a new hotel going up on the north end of Santa Maria.
The four-story, 110-room Hampton Inn is located on the corner of Broadway and Preisker, adjacent to Highway 101, and will include a pool and conference room.
The City of Santa Maria says the major structural work is almost complete as crews are working to install the roof, exterior details and building systems.
Construction is also moving along on what will eventually be Wendy’s restaurant.
The Hamtpon Inn could open in the fall. Wendy’s has targeted Aug. 1 for its opening.
The City says building permits have not yet been submitted for two retail buildings along North Broadway.
