UPDATE: Evacuation lifted after bomb threat at county building in Santa Barbara

UPDATE (2:44 p.m.) – The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office says evacuation orders have been lifted.

The Sheriff’s Office says a team of K-9’s from around the region searched the area and didn’t find any suspicious items.

An investigation is underway to identity and locate the person who made threat during a 9-1-1 call.

 

ORIGINAL STORY (1:17 p.m.) – Authorities are investigating a bomb threat and suspicious package at the county administrative building Wednesday afternoon in Santa Barbara.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office says the building on the 100 block of Anapamu Street and the surrounding area have been evacuated.

The bomb team has been called in to investigate and people are asked to avoid the area.

No other information was immediately available.
