People in San Luis Obispo on Monday can donate blood and receive a free pint of Doc Burnstein’s ice cream.
Vitalant, formerly known as United Blood Services, and Doc Burnstein’s Ice Cream Lab are teaming up once again for a blood drive from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. April 15 at Vitalant’s office in SLO, 4119 Broad St., Ste. 100.
For every pint of blood donated, people can get a free pint of their favorite ice cream flavor.
Doc Burnstein’s has been part of monthly blood drives since 2003. “When you consider that each donation can save three lives, the 9,000 donations at Doc Burnstein’s drives makes for a staggering impact,” Doc Burnstein’s Founder Grey Steinberger said in a press release.
