A 14-year-old boy was hit by a car at Turnpike Rd. and Cervato Way in Goleta around 3 p.m. on Friday, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.
California Highway Patrol, the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office and the Santa Barbara County Fire Department responded to the incident.
The fire department said when first responders got to the scene they saw the 14-year-old boy lying in the street. He reportedly suffered moderate injuries and was taken to the hospital.
The driver did not flee the scene but stayed and talked to CHP about what happened.
CHP is now investigating the incident.
