Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s officials arrested a Goleta man Wednesday on suspicion of dealing drugs, including heroin.
Sheriff’s officials say during a traffic stop, Omar Alfaro-Rios, 43, was found to be in possession of approximately one pound of black tar heroin. It was reportedly hidden in his waistband. Officials say he also had a small amount of methamphetamine in one of his pockets.
Following the traffic stop, detectives served a search warrant at his home in the 200 block of Big Sur Dr.
Sheriff’s officials say they found evidence of drug sales and trafficking, including a scale with heroin residue on it.
Alfaro-Rios was arrested and booked into Santa Barbara County Jail on charges of possession for sales of a controlled substance, transportation of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute, and possession of a controlled substance.
