Atascadero police investigate three local massage parlors

The Atascadero Police Department reportedly served search warrants Wednesday at three massage parlors in the city.

The businesses – Phoenix Massage, Happy Day Massage, and Zen Relax Spa Massage – were under investigation for possible prostitution and human trafficking, according to police. All of the businesses are located in the 7000 and 8000 blocks of El Camino Real,

As a result of the searches, police say one person was arrested for an outstanding warrant and they’re requesting that the San Luis Obispo County District Attorney’s Office file charges of prostitution against her. She has been identified as Qin Guifang, 39, of Monterey Park.

Investigators say two of the locations were also cited for labor and insurance code violations and one business was yellow-tagged for being unsafe due to building code violations.

Police say their investigation into possible human trafficking at the locations continues.

The Atascadero Police Department was assisted by the San Luis Obispo Police Department and the San Luis Obispo County District Attorney’s Office Human Trafficking Task Force and Bureau of Investigations.
