2 people robbed at gunpoint near Goleta, authorities say

Authorities are looking for those responsible for an armed robbery near Goleta this week.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to reports of an armed robbery on Farren Road shortly before 9 p.m. Tuesday.

“A young male and female were inside their vehicle when four suspects pulled up next to them, opened the doors and demanded their belongings,” according to a sheriff’s office press release.

The robbers, one of whom was armed with a pistol, smashed the back window and demanded the victim’s give them their cell phones, wallets and keys, according to the sheriff’s office. The robbers then got back in their car and took off.

The victims were reportedly able to run to a nearby home and call 911. Sheriff’s deputies and California Highway Patrol officers responded but were unable to locate the robbers, whose vehicle is described as a red or orange Dodge Charger.
