Morro Bay police say an 18-year-old man from San Luis Obispo was arrested after trying to rob another man at knifepoint Tuesday night at the Fireside Inn.
It happened at about 8:45 p.m. at the inn on Morro Ave.
The suspect has been identified as Armando Benjamin Ayala.
Police say the victim, a 42-year-old man from Cambria, fought back when Ayala tried to rob him.
Both men reportedly suffered non-life threatening injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment.
Ayala was then booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and attempted robbery. As of Wednesday morning, he remained in custody with bail set at $60,000.
