The Santa Barbara County Public Works Department released photos this week showing how much Lake Cachuma has risen since the beginning of the year.
Winter storms caused the lake to rise by more than 40 percent between January 31 and March 21. It’s currently at 78 percent capacity.
Despite all the rain, county officials encourage residents to continue conserving water.
Photos of Lake Cachuma from1/31 and 3/21 show the lake at 36% and at 78% capacity. Recent rain has ended the drought emergency, but we need to continue to reduce our water use to help our supply remain at a sustainable level. https://t.co/sFvbzjmfA7 @usbr @CA_DWR @NACoTweets pic.twitter.com/wiezp6Ugmd
