The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office says two people suspected of an attempted burglary in Nipomo earlier this week have been arrested in Northern California.

They have been identified as Jimmy Butcher, 22, of Livingston and Mariah Wright, 27, of Santa Maria.

Sheriff’s officials say the two were seen leaving the 1700 block of Trilogy Parkway as a home alarm was sounding. Investigators say a window screen at the home had been removed and the window showed evidence of tampering.

According to the sheriff’s office, a neighbor confronted the couple and said the two could not provide a credible reason for being in the area. The witness was able to take a picture of the man before the two ran off.

Butcher and Wright were reportedly arrested on unrelated charges. Sheriff’s officials say it has not yet been determined what, if any, charges the two will face related to the Nipomo investigation.
