Traffic on Highway 101 in San Luis Obispo was backed up after a multi-vehicle crash near Prado Rd. On Thursday.
It happened shortly after noon in the northbound lanes.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened as some vehicles had slowed or stopped in the area because a dog was running in the lanes.
As many as three vehicles were involved.
Traffic was backed up to south of Los Osos Valley Rd.
At 12:45 p.m., CHP reported that animal control had the dog contained.
Just before 12:30 p.m., a second crash occurred in the southbound lanes at Los Osos Valley Rd. CHP reported that as a non-injury accident.
