On Friday, the Ernie G. Empowerment Comedy Show made an appearance at Cuesta College for the Educate-Si Se Puede inspirational conference for Latino and Latina high school students in San Luis Obispo County.
The conference was aimed to empower and motivate students to “pursue higher education, encourage them to overcome barriers, and understand that they can achieve their goals.”
Keynote speaker and comedian Ernie G. has been seen by millions on various TV shows like Comedy Central, B.E.T, HBO and many more.
Ernie G. graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Chicano Studies.
He then developed his own form of comedy that he calls “Latino Edutainment – Educating and Entertaining with a Latino Flavor!”
“They’re so often told that they’re not enough and I remind students you have everything you need to let your light shine,” he said.
About 500 students attended the event.
