Four people were hurt when a minivan went off the side of the road into a gully near Avila Beach on Wednesday.
It happened at about 11 a.m. on Monte Rd. near Avila Beach Dr.
First responders say two people suffered serious injuries and the other two had minor injuries.
The driver was trapped by the dashboard of the vehicle and firefighters had to use the Jaws of Life to free the person.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
Monte Rd. was closed while emergency crews responded to the scene and crews worked to remove the wreckage.
