Visitors to Hearst Castle can now see the historic estate at night.

Evening tours for the spring begin Friday.

State Parks says the tours will feature the Living History Program, “which evokes the heyday of this great estate.”

Docents dressed up in 1930s attire will be in various rooms helping to recreate a sense of what life was like for William Randolph Hearst’s guests at that time.

Tours will go from one of the guest houses to the main rooms and kitchen of the main house before heading into the library and Hearst’s private Gothic Suite.

Visitors will also get a look at the indoor Roman Pool.

The evening spring tours take place on most Friday and Saturday nights March 1 through May 18.

During spring break, mid-week tours at night will take place from April 15 to 25.

Tours are a little more than two hours long. Visitors are told to arrive 15 minutes ahead of time.
