Santa Maria Police arrest two in narcotics investigation

Two people were arrested in connection with a narcotics investigation in Santa Maria.

Police said Thursday that officers from the Santa Maria Police Department Special Enforcement Team served a search warrant in the 2000 block of N. Preisker Lane.

Officers say they found 378 grams of methamphetamine, 136 grams of heroin, two loaded guns, and several rounds of ammunition. Investigators say one of the handguns had been reported as stolen.

Robert Briseno, 43, and Michael Martinez, 47, both from Bakersfield, were arrested and booked into Santa Barbara County Jail. Police say both suspects are convicted felons and face charges of felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, possession of methamphetamine for sale, possession of heroin for sale, transportation of methamphetamine and transportation of heroin.
