Twins covered the campus of Miller Elementary School in Santa Maria Tuesday.

It was Twos Day/Twins Day as part of the school’s way of celebrating Dr. Seuss’s birthday and Read Across America Week.

Students were encouraged to dress up as Thing 1 or Thing 2 or wear matching clothing with a friend.

The school on E. Camino Colegio has 10 sets of real twins. Nine of them came together for a special photo op Tuesday morning.

“They learn the crazy words but they also learn rhyming, they learn poetry, they learn characters, there’s a lot of positive messages in the stories,” Miller Elementary Outreach Consultant Gail Burgess said about Dr. Seuss’s books.

Other events at Miller Elementary this week include Wacky Wednesday and a book exchange.
