Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s officials busted another commercial cannabis cultivation site that they say was operating illegally.

The sheriff’s office says the owner of the facility, located in the 2000 block of W. Highway 246 near Buellton, created false documents to obtain a temporary state cannabis license and stored and sold the processed cannabis illegally.

Detectives served a search warrant at the property on Wednesday and say they seized approximately 14,000 pounds of mixed cannabis and approximately 240 pounds of cannabis packaged and prepped to be shipped. Sheriff’s officials say the street value of those items is estimated to be up to $2 million.

Fish and Wildlife officers also reportedly inspected the property because of its proximity to the Santa Ynez River. According to sheriff’s officials, they noted several potential environmental crimes and found a rabbit that had been trapped by illegal means. The rabbit was reportedly released.
