The Art Center Morro Bay is celebrating International Women’s Day with a special art exhibit.
The show highlights the contributions women have made in the local community and the strength they have expressed through encouragement, support and unification.
Each of the pieces on display in the show touch on topics such as human rights, gender equality and social achievements.
The Art Center is hoping visitors celebrate and support the women in the pieces as well as in everyday life.
“It’s about the power that women have had, that women participated in the communities for generations and the effect that women’s unique characteristics have had and this is how artists have then interpreted those characteristics,” explained Jan French of the Art Center Morro Bay.
The Light the Way show will be on display until April 1. The event is free.
