The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office has identified the suspect who was shot by a Los Osos resident last Friday as Ian Arthur James, 31, of Los Osos.
The incident happened early on the morning of February 15 at a home in the 1300 block of 6th Street.
Sheriff’s officials say it appears James was trying to break into the home and was shot by the man who lives there. That man has been identified as an officer with the California Men’s Colony.
James was taken to the hospital to be treated for his injuries.
Sheriff’s officials say detectives are working with the San Luis Obispo County District Attorney’s Office to file attempted burglary charges against James.
